Small town life

Last Wednesday was the begining of the 'ville's art and music festival. Alix had her church painting in the art contest, sadly she only got a participant ribbon, but her painting is displayed at the biggest bank in town. Kent ran the 5k at 5:30, all he got was a participant t-shirt. At 8:00pm on Wednesday we walked over to the park and listened to 2 hours of great music - the Cincinnati Symphony Pops Orchestra comes to town every year and gives us a free concert! This year's theme was great music from the 70s and early 80s. There were a few soundtracks and a few medleys, it was wonderful. At the end of the concert they always do an encore with "God Bless America." They invite us to stand and join in the singing at the end. I took a pic with my phone, not real clear but you can get the idea. Thousands of people attend - some of the religious organizations sell food, Kent's favorite is the homemade pie. The next night they have another free concert - rock this time. And Friday is a country concert with the finalists in a contest for a Nashville record label. And Saturday is the Oldenburg Firemen's festival. So much fun!

Oh the life of a small town. I miss it sometimes more then I would like to admit.
I really can't imagine living anywhere else. 8>)
