Quiet
Having taken Jake to his "White Stag" camping on Sunday (which entailed a 4.5 hour round trip through what can only be termed "the sticks"), Kent arriving home from a trip and leaving from the airport to his folks in Michigan, and Alix gone until Tuesday morning; it has been very quiet around here. Her arrival home yesterday morning had done nothing to change that. She arrived and was standing on the curb waiting for me at 7:00 am, which meant she flew all night. She got home, downloaded her pictures and then went to bed until about 5:00. It is unknown what time she went back to bed, but she is still sleeping and it is 10:00. She had a great time visiting with her cousins, aunt and uncle, and her grandparents. I am glad she was able to go. With our family spread out the way it is, it takes effort to maintain a relationship. We will have to plan some time in Michigan next year when all of GJ's family will be back for the other set of grand's 50th. That will be fun. Will also have to make time to visit my good friend Lisa and family. They are moving to the Benton Harbor area next week.
Anyway I have enjoyed myself these few days of aloneness. Spent time in the garden, on the lawn mower and walking the dog. Next on my agenda is painting Jakes bedroom. Won't he be surprised, not! He knows I plan to do it, he will be surprised that I actually did do it!
