Prom Part Deux: Only Men

So last Saturday while my Mom and I were frantically finishing a prom dress in the sewing headquarters we have established in our loft, the males in our house are looking for something to do. My Dad has wisely decided to retreat to the motorhome alternating between snoozing and watching TV. Meanwhile my 16 year old son has decided that 10:00am on Prom day with a pickup time of 3:30pm is a really good time to take an hour long bath in the ONLY bathtub we own. So when daughter finds him locked away in her domain she complains to her Dad. And her Dad sees nothing wrong with said son taking an hour long bath in the bathroom with all her shampoos, conditioners, makeup, curling iron, etc. Once that was settled and she has finished with the basic cleansing of her hair and body, she must return to the loft for one of the thousand tryons of her dress. Unfortuantely this means that the bathroom in which she has staked out her territory is empty. Dad seeking something constructive to do decides that 2:00pm on Prom day with a 3:30pm pickup is a really good time to finish putting in the shoe molding on the new floor in same said bathroom. When she returns to finish putting her hair up and start on her makeup she finds her Dad has invaded her space and has the floor covered with tools and pieces of wood. More over he wants her to clean up the bathroom so he can work in it. Now while it wasn't at it's usual cluttered state, it was fairly bad. My Mom and I told him that on her wedding day the only thing he is to do is get dressed and walk her down the aisle! It was with complete relief that we waved goodbye to Quinn and Alix when they left at 3:30pm.

Well from a man's prespective I think Dad was just trying to spend a little time constructively, rather then dwell on the fact that some "guy" was coming over to pick up his babygirl and take her out. Better to do what he did then sit on the front porch sharpening his k-bar.
You mean he was dwelling on the fact she would be out all night with the crush, so was trying to keep busy? I said he was trying to be constructive. But I didn't tell you the best of the bunch, I'll do that privately.
